Over 54 million Americans lack access to fresh, healthy food. As we are faced with greater time constraints from work, commuting, etc., we often choose convenient foods with low nutritional values. 1/3 of Americans opt for fast-food every day.

Convenience foods are not only jeopardizing our health, but also generating alarming amounts of waste. Packaging is one of the largest causes of waste. Last year, over 141 million metric tons of plastic packaging hit our landfills and oceans.

Chef Jared Cannon founded Simply Good Jars with the health of individuals and the health of the planet in mind. He set out to change the way we think about consumption—from the kind of food we eat, to the package it comes in, and to how it serves the community.

Our fresh, chef-crafted meals are locally sourced, guaranteed under 600 calories, and come in reusable BPA-free jars. We stock them in our Simply Smart Fridges, a smart vending machine that we place in your workplace, gym, hospital, etc., so that healthy options are within reach 24/7.

As of August 2nd, this project has raised $2,000 of their $45,000 goal. This project has 28 days left to raise the $45,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $5, you will get a social media shoutout.  For a pledge of $50, you will get a video recipe guide.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sgj/sustainable-meals-with-a-mission-ready-when-you-are?
