August 2-3 – Secret Stages Music Festival – Birmingham, AL
Secret Stages is a two-day walking music festival that takes place in Birmingham, AL on the first weekend of August. For two nights a diverse group of music enthusiasts are treated to around 60 bands performing on the stages of neighborhood establishments. These acts were drawn from the nation, the region, and our own backyard, and all are up-and-coming or buzz-worthy acts on the cusp of making a big splash.

August 2-3 – Main Street Music Festival – Albertville, AL
Music festival with national and regional entertainment on two stages; arts, crafts and food vendors, children’s area with inflatables, games and carnival rides along with a wide variety of activities for kids and kids at heart.

August 2-3 – Ardmore Police Reserve Rodeo – Ardmore, AL
Dust off your cowboy boots and grab our cowboy hat for the Ardmore Police Reserve Rodeo – Bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing and more benefiting the Ardmore AL/TN Police Reserves and Fire Department.
August 3 – Clay County Yellow Meated Watermelon Festival – Ashland, AL
The day will begin with the Watermelon Small Vehicle Parade and Pet Parade. Food, music, vendors, arts and crafts, Watermelon Olympic games, kiddie land, Courthouse Cruise in, historical tours and exhibits are all included within the festival. Bring a chair and sit a spell! You might even want to spit a few seeds. Celebrating our past, our people and our future in Clay County Alabama!
August 2-3 – Piney Chapel American Farm Heritage Days – Athens, AL
20147 Elkton Rd., South of Piney Chapel School–Antique tractors and engines, arts & crafts, live entertainment, the Parade of Power, contests and more.
August 3 – Commemoration of the Battle of Mobile Bay – Gulf Shores, AL
Commemorating the events that happened at Mobile Bay August 5-23, 1864, the fort will come to life with drills and demonstrations of artillery by historical interpreters.
August 1-4 – 2019 World’s Longest Yard Sale – Gadsden, AL
The World’s Longest Yard Sale takes place each first Thursday through Sunday in August. The sale begins in Gadsden, AL at Noccalula Falls Park and continues up the Lookout Mountain Parkway towards Chattanooga. The sale is free, takes place in all weather, and vendors set up in yards, churches, anywhere there is open space along the route.

August 3 – Woodstock 5K – Anniston, AL
The Anniston Runners Club (ARC) and our members invite you to our premier annual event- The Historic Woodstock 5K and Kidstock 1 Mile! Woodstock is a fun, healthy, community event where more than 1000 runners and walkers come to shake their tail feathers! Go ahead and mark your calendar for August 3, 2019 for the oldest footrace in the southeast!

August 3-4 – 2019 East Alabama UCP Telethon – Anniston, AL
For more than 58 years, children and adults have been experiencing miracles through the programs and services provided by East Central Alabama United Cerebral Palsy (ECAUCP).
People struggling with disabilities and their families need support, in order to have the opportunity to achieve their goals and reach their maximum potential. They share the same dreams as everyone else. All of us — whether or not we have disabilities — want many of the same things — we want our families to be healthy and happy, we want meaningful work, and we all deserve the opportunity to live meaningful lives.
