July 19 -28 – W.C. Handy Music Festival – Northwest Alabama

The W.C. Handy Music Festival is a weeklong celebration of the musical heritage of northwest Alabama, honoring Florence native, W. C. Handy, “Father of the Blues.” Over 200 events take place during the week, ranging from mini-concerts to headliner concerts, plays to art exhibits, picnics to restaurants and clubs.

July 20 – Hanceville Music Fest – Hanceville, AL

The City of Hanceville and Bud Light proudly present the Hanceville Music Fest, the second event in our first annual Summer Concert Series. The event features The Natchez Trace Band and Another Hero.

July 20 – Float Your Boat Summer Festival – Pinson, AL

We offer a fun-filled day at the Preserve that features balsa wood boat races with prizes, the City of Pinson’s “Beat the Heat” ice cream give-away, food, swimming and a fun zone for kids. Enjoy hotdogs, popcorn and lemonade or play in the creek.

July 19-21 – Southeastern Woodcarving School and Exposition – Wetumpka, AL

Hosted by the Central Alabama Woodcarving Association, and sponsored by the City of Wetumpka, this will be the 34th Annual Southeastern Woodcarving School and Exposition. Visitors can enjoy viewing all of the wonderful woodcarvings on display and observe the carvers at work while they learn about different aspects of woodcarving.

July 20 – Lions Lake Martin Charity Poker Run – Alexander City, AL

The annual Lions Lake Martin Charity Poker Run will be held Saturday, July 20th. The Poker Run begins at the Ridge Marina with registration at 8:30AM and will end at Kowaliga Restaurant at Kowaliga. Those participating will travel from the Ridge Marina to River North, and other points on Lake Martin. Awards and Post-Run party to be held at Kowaliga Restaurant.

July 19-21 – Alabama Deep Sea Fishing Rodeo – Dauphin Island, AL

More than 3,000 anglers from at least 24 states will fish in the Gulf of Mexico for three days for more than $400,000 in cash and prizes across 30 categories. Sponsored by the Mobile Jaycees, the 2011 event was listed in Guinness World Records as the largest fishing tournament.
