Time for the Alabama Weekend Roundup. This weekly post highlights different and unique events across Alabama or near Alabama that you should consider attending. So for this weekend, here are some events you should consider going too!
March 16-17 – Birmingham Hammerfest – Birmingham, AL
The inaugural Birmingham Hammerfest fueled by Gatorade Zero is the place to be on March 16th. Eighteen USA CRITS D1 professional cycling teams will be racing through the streets of the Lakeview District. This exciting, fast-paced criterium racing is not just for the pros. Amateurs and juniors will be tackling the same course and putting their skills to the test. This family-friendly weekend includes something for all ages with the Thomas Waters State Farm Kids’ Zone featuring inflatables, arts and crafts, bike obstacle courses and more. Kids of all ages can deck out their bikes/trikes St. Patty’s style and show off their wheels in the Lil’ Shamrock fun ride during the Regions Bank Community Hour. Ride your bike to Lakeview and park at the Lewis & Feldman bike valet and visit their cycle pits for bicycle maintenance courses. Enjoy local food trucks or head up to the excitement and festivities at the restaurants and bars along 7th Avenue and 29th St.

March 16 – Foley BBQ & Blues Cook-Off – Foley, AL
Professional and amateur teams compete for trophies, prizes and bragging rights in several categories: Chicken, Anything Butt, Ribs, Just Butts, Sauce and People’s Choice. Festival goers enjoy great food, popular blues bands, children’s activities, arts and crafts vendors and a raffle. Admission charged. All proceeds benefit the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation and area schools. Held annually on the third Saturday in March.

March 15-17 – Northeast Alabama Craftsmen Association Spring Show – Huntsville, AL
Arts & crafts show with teddy bears, dolls, doll furniture, unusual pottery, special ornaments, wooden toys, hand crochet items, one-of-a-kind jewelry, clothes, room décor, wooden kitchen accessories, bird feeders, and much more. There will be a $20 gift certificate given away every two hours during the show. Approximately 250 vendors will be present selling at the show. The show is held annually on the 3rd weekend of March.

March 15-16 – Historic Selma Pilgrimage – Selma, AL
Beneath the moss-covered trees Selma opens its doors for the 44th annual Historic Selma Pilgrimage. Spring Pilgrimage offers visitors a chance to experience hands-on history through guided tours of homes in many architectural styles including Antebellum and Victorian, four museums, an operating 1860s grist mill, historic church, art shows and more. Discounts are available for groups.

March 16 – Hanceville Irish Heritage Festival – Hanceville, AL
2nd Annual Hanceville Irish Heritage Festival. Irish Music and Irish Dance, Arts and Crafts, along with good Food and Irish Drink on tap, and Irish swag, Featuring Black Market Haggis, Chuck Carpenter and Tommy Chapman and the Westwood Irish Dance Group. March 15-17 – Orange Beach Invasion – Orange Beach, AL
Orange Beach Invasion will make its return to the Alabama Gulf Coast during the month of March. This show premiered at The Wharf two years ago and proved to be unlike any other. March 15-17 – Outdoor Arts & Crafts Festival – Fairhope, AL

Enjoy live entertainment and festival cuisine from the food court during this wonderful three-day fine arts festival. It all takes place on the streets of beautiful downtown Fairhope, Alabama.

March 14-16 – Annual Southeastern Livestock Exposition Rodeo – Montgomery, AL
The 2019 SLE Rodeo will be held March 14-16 at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery, Alabama, with family fun for all ages!
