This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.
The Ocean Bottle is designed to be the last reusable bottle you’ll ever need to buy. We partnered with the award-winning Norwegian design agency K8 to create a 500ml bottle that combines the best features that exist with a series of new innovative functions. The Ocean Bottle is vacuum insulated, so it keeps hot drinks piping hot and cool drinks ice cold. Our cap contains anti-leak technology which means it’s safe in your bag, while the easy carry loop makes it a breeze to take on the go.
Each bottle is activated with an NFC smart chip, so in future we plan for you to be able to contribute more to plastic collection each time you refill your Ocean Bottle. Our next phase of the Ocean Bottle project is to forge partnerships with lunch chains, juice bars, coffee chains, water fountain companies, payment system providers, and loyalty programs to provide for continuous ocean impact.
By 2025 we plan to be stopping the equivalent of 3 billion plastic bottles from entering our oceans each year and expanding recycling infrastructure, taking on new plastic projects, and supporting plastic collectors worldwide. But we can’t do this without you. We need your help to grow the team of plastic collectors.
As of February 5th, this project has raised $63,000 of their $10,000 goal. This project has 25 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $41, you will get one bottle. For a pledge of $78, you will get two bottles. To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-ocean-bottle-the-world-s-most-needed-bottle–3#/
