Animation Monday: SpongeBob’s Super Bowl Less Sweet Victory

Creator of SpongeBob SquarePants, Stephen Hillenburg, made a song for an episode that was performed in the made up Bubble Bowl.  The song, called “Sweet Victory”, was a big hit among the fans.  And many wondered if this song would be performed during the Super Bowl Halftime Show since   Hillenburg’s passing.

Well, SpongeBob did appear in this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show.  But it was only for about 15 seconds.  And “Sweet Victory” was never performed by Maroon 5 or any other artist.  We only got Travis Scott, who was bleeped out quite a bit during his performance.

Many fans are upset about this, not only “Sweet Victory” was never performed, the whole halftime show was a huge letdown.  So, I guess we will have to rely on the full “Sweet Victory” performance from the cartoon.  It could have been better.
