Tune In Right Now For The 2018 Desert Bus For Hope

On November 9, 2018, at 10am Pacific time, Desert Bus for Hope 2018 will begin. Now entering its 12th year, Desert Bus 2018 is the annual non-stop charity fundraiser for Child’s Play Charities.

On November 9, 2018, at 10am, the livestream on Twitch.tv will kick off and will continue so long as the audience donates. Filled with singing, dancing, auctions, celebrity guests, comedy sketches, and more, Desert Bus for Hope has become one of the most successful online charity drives, raising over $4,000,000 over the past 11 years for Child’s Play Charities.

The 2017 fundraiser ran for 158 hours and raised over $650,000. Desert Bus, the video game created by world-famous magicians Penn & Teller, is the core of Desert Bus for Hope is often touted as the world’s most boring video game. Players drive the titular bus through the desert from Tucson, AZ to Las Vegas, NV in real time, a full eight-hour trip.

Upon succeeding they are awarded a single point and given the option to make an identical return trip to Tucson. With no other traffic or obstacles of any kind, the game becomes an endurance test as players must pay full attention to the game for eight hours straight to prevent the bus from crashing. As this isn’t the most interesting thing to watch, the team at Desert Bus for Hope performs songs, sketches, human pyramids, you name it.

Anything we can do to keep the ‘driver’ focused, keep our audience entertained, and keep the donations coming in.
