Crowdsourcing Mornings: Silo: One-Touch Connected Vacuum System

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Meet Silo, your new countertop staple. Silo is a revolutionary simple vacuum-sealing container system that keeps your food fresher, longer. Its patented one-touch vacuum technology combined with the IoT infrastructure (Alexa built-in!) ensures your farmers market finds and holiday leftovers last 2-5 times longer.  We believe that a more efficient and more rewarding kitchen starts with vacuum-sealing our food — and creating a better way to manage it.
Air is good for humans – but bad for food. Silo’s patented deep vacuum sucks out the air and creates a seal that is only broken with you open the valve – ensuring your food stays fresher – longer.  Silo is the only vacuum sealer on the market with suction from the container’s bottom, accommodating liquids and small particles. And Silo’s patented containers are designed to vacuum, seal and store almost any food with absolutely no clogging.
The benefits of deep vacuum cannot be overstated. Food items that you would normally place in the fridge can now deep vacuumed with Silo and then placed in the fridge for maximum food shelf life.  Silo’s deep vacuum technology works by removing air from the container – as demonstrated by the expanding marshmallows. We’re sorry to inform that your avocados and tomatoes won’t get any bigger – but they will last for up to 5x longer.

As of October 19th, this project has raised $225,000 of their $80,000 goal. This project has 28 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $1, you will get updates.  For a pledge of $175, you will get one Silo base plus four containers.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
