Crowdsourcing Mornings: Ketoko – An Adventure Story For Children

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Ketoko is the story of a young Native American boy, who is going on an epic adventure to find his spirit animal. He is joined on this journey by his best friend, Nina, a girl from his tribe and his faithful dog, Snow. The friends set off on a journey, which tests them both physically and mentally and they learn how to work together as a team to overcome big challenges.  The book is for children at the age of 6 and older. The story encourages children to think outside the box and to be confident to break new ground.

The story is set in the untouched wilderness of North America in the early autumn and with our beautiful illustrations, the reader is immersed in that gorgeous environment. The adventure that our friends are on is full of twists and turns that make for a lively reading experience. According to our early reviewers, it is the combination of detailed story-telling and stunning artwork combined with a gripping storyline that makes it hard to put Ketoko down.

Our goal with Ketoko was to create children’s book that can both inspire a love for the great outdoors in kids as well as give some guidance for children about the process of finding one’s place in the world. We believe that Ketoko accomplishes both. The story includes many of our favourite outdoor activities like canoeing, hiking, tracking of wildlife and simply soaking in the beauty of the great outdoors.

Children that have read the book say that they were drawn into the magnificent wilderness that the story is set in and the adventures inspired them to go outside and explore nature. At the same time, the story highlights the importance of working hard for the goals in our lives that we attach the greatest meaning to. We need to go out and chase our dreams, not sit idly at home. Another key message of Ketoko is that it shows children the value of friendship and to achieve great things, we need to work together.  Ketoko is the brainchild of three friends, who share a passion for adventure stories and everything to do with Native American culture.
