This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.
The Sartorial Geek is a quarterly magazine promoting nerd culture, girl power, and general good vibes. Our first issue debuted during Women’s History month and featured an interview with a Top Chef contestant, a look at an official (female-designed) Black Panther jewelry collection, and self-care tips. Issue 002 came out during Pride month and took a look at love in all of its forms, from platonic relationships to sisterly love to all kinds of romance. We’re so excited to announce Issue 003, which will highlight women in sci-fi and STEAM, from science-focused summer camps for girls to our new female Doctor.
The main reward we’re offering is a copy of our magazine! You can choose between a digital copy, a physical copy, or a package of magazines (our first three issues, our next four issues, or a bundle of copies at a retail rate). If you want to dive a little deeper into our community, you can check out our weekly podcast or daily blog where we chat about all kinds of nerdiness with super cool people. You can also join our free online hangout to network with other nerds just like you. We’re thankful to have been able to self fund our first two issues, and we’re really excited to launch Issue 003 with Kickstarter. We think this is a project that everyone who enjoys nerd culture will love, and we’re so thankful to everyone who backs and shares this project!
As of September 10th, this project has raised $5,500 of their $7,500 goal. This project has 12 days left to raise the $7,500 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $1, you will get one digital copy. For a pledge of $5, you will get one physical copy.
