A myriad of arts & crafts along with craft and food vendors, sweet potatoes, music, a car show, and lots of food and family fun abounds at this festival.

September 1-2 – Noccalula Falls Powwow – Noccalula Falls Park – Gadsden, AL
Turtle Island Native American Association presents a Native American Powwow/Indian Festival. Special appearance by the Aztec Dancers, in their beautiful Regalia, John T. Wayne, Grandson of the ‘Duke’ , author and Civil War Buff., Arts and Craft Vendors, Drumming, Dancing. Concessions available. Seating provided but bringing your own shade is recommended. Come and enjoy the songs of our ancestors.
September 1 – St. William Church Seafood Festival – Civitan Park – Guntersville, AL
Ahoy, seafood lovers! The annual seafood festival takes place at Civitan Park on Lake Guntersville. A drive-thru opens at 7:30 a.m. for purchasing quarts of gumbo and Cajun boiled shrimp. Dine-in opens at 10:30 a.m. for Creole-style filé gumbo, Cajun boiled shrimp, boiled crawfish, catfish dinners and barbecue chicken dinners. The event is held annually on the Saturday of Labor Day weekend.

September 3 – Shoals Area Labor Day Festival – Spring Park – Tuscumbia, AL
Oldest Labor Day Event in Alabama. Parade at 11am. Speeches by Union representatives, State and local leaders. Miss and Little Miss Labor Day contest. Prizes, Fun and Food.
September 3 – Coon Dog Labor Day Celebration – Cherokee, AL
10am-4pm. is held at the world’s only Coon Dog Cemetery. Enjoy “old time” bluegrass music, buck dancing, barbecue, and a liar’s contest.
September 3 – Section Labor Day Festival – Section Community Park – Section, AL
Musical entertainment all day featuring Gospel, Bluegrass, Country, and good ol’ Rock & Roll. Free Children’s games and rides. Lots of food includes Homemade Ice Crème and Bar-B-Que. Also, volleyball, horseshoes, dominoes, Just wholesome family fun!
August 31 – September 4 – Sand Mountain 50 Mile Yard Sale – Northeast Alabama
Find the most unique items Sand Mountain has to offer.
September 1-3 – Battle For Decatur – Point Mallard Park – Decatur, AL
Civil War reenactment featuring more than 100 authentically clad reenactors with mock battles each day.
