August 25-26 – Black Belt Folk Roots Festival – Eutaw, AL

This free event is a unique celebration which brings together craft persons, musicians, dancers, storytellers, food specialist, artists and community workers–all of whom are considered bearers of the traditions and folkways of the West Alabama region.

August 25 – Dauphin Street Beer Festival – Mobile, AL

August 25 – Fyffe UFO Day – Fyffe Town Park – Fyffe, AL

Hot Air Balloon Rides showcase this unique family outing! Arts and crafts, children’s games, food vendors, antique tractors, live entertainment, and much more make this event fun for the whole family.

August 25 – Hangar Fest III – Bessemer Airport – Bessemer, AL

All day music festival featuring performances by Drivin n Cryin, Nappy Roots, Hot Action Cop, Suburban Love Junkies, Jessica Meuse, Trey Lewis, Megan Kane, Ryan Flynt, Chris Ewing and AJ Beavers. Hangar Fest will also include Huey helicopter rides, food and vendors. Kids ages 10 and under get in free.

August 25 – Okra Festival 2018 – Burkville, AL

The Okra Festival started as a small community event celebrating the only crop that survived an unusually hot summer in 2000. More than a decade later, it is one of the highlights of the summer season, featuring local food, music and cultural arts.

August 25 – River Run Car Show – Marshall County Park #1 – Guntersville, AL

Vintage Auto and classics from the area and surrounding states. Great music and entertainment, food. Prize given away all day to participants and spectators. The event is held annually on the 4th Saturday in August.

August 24-26 – Vintage Market Days – The Grounds  -Mobile, AL

Featured items include original art, antiques, clothing, jewelry, handmade items, home décor and outdoor furnishings. The hours are Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

August 24-26 – Shindig No. 10 – Florence, AL

The shindig celebrates fashion, music, food and art. Grammy-winning singer Kacey Musgraves will headline the weekend festival, which includes performances by Joshua Hedley, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Dee White, Robert Finley, The Texas Gentleman, Mattiel and The War and Treaty. There will be dozens of award-winning chefs from around the country preparing inventive new takes on Southern cuisine at venues throughout the region.

August 24-25 – Alabama Square and Round Dance Convention – Oxford Civic Center – Oxford, AL

Venders will be set up selling all your dancing attire! Learn new calls in workshops for square, rounds, line , clogging and contra dancing. Dancing halls will be dedicated to mainstream, Plus calls , and Advance calling. Come and enjoy exhibitions from Kay Trimm’s Clog Wild Cloggers among other little surprises over the two days of fun. Meet and make new friends from all over the World that share in our love of dance. Night time will be everyone dressed to impress as you will see ladies twirled and spun in this Alabama dancing tradition called Square dancing!

August 25 – Taste of 4th Avenue Jazz Festival – Birmingham, AL

The Taste of 4th Avenue Jazz Festival will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 in Birmingham’s Historic 4th Avenue District Downtown with gates opening at 12 Noon and show kicking off at 2:00 pm. This event is FREE and open to the public.
