August 17-18 – South Alabama Pro Rodeo Classic – Dale County Ag-Plex Arena – Ozark, AL
Come see bull riding, team roping, barrel racing, calf roping, bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding and breakaway roping, entertainment, vendors and more. Event is held annually on the third Friday and Saturday of August.

August 18 – XTERRA Auburn – Chewacla State Park – Auburn, AL
XTERRA gives athletes around the world a chance to race in off-road triathlons in some of the most spectacular environments on the planet. XTERRA Auburn will take place August 19th, 2017 at Chewacla State Park in Auburn, Alabama. The swim will take place in the park’s 26-acre swimming lake, while the bike and run will highlight the park’s 25+ miles of mountain bike trails.

August 18 – Habitat for Humanity Dragon Boat Festival – Riverwalk Park – Gadsden, AL
Watch the spectacle of 46-foot Dragon Boats powered by 20 paddlers, rowing to the beat of the drummer, as they race on a course on the Coosa River- perfect for spectators! Food, entertainment, and vendors will add to the excitement!

August 18 – Clay County Yellow Meated Watermelon Festival – Ashland City Park – Ashland, AL
The day will begin with the Watermelon Small Vehicle Parade and Pet Parade. Food, music, vendors, arts and crafts, Watermelon Olympic games, kiddie land, Courthouse Cruise in, historical tours and exhibits are all included within the festival. Bring a chair and sit a spell! You might even want to spit a few seeds. Celebrating our past, our people and our future in Clay County Alabama!
August 17-18 – Franklin County Watermelon Festival – Russellville, AL
The Franklin County Watermelon Festival is celebrating its 38th year in 2018! This free family event is a weekend of music, fun, food and WATERMELON! The event is held annually on the third Friday and Saturday of August.
August 18 – Rockin’ the River – Joe Wheeler State Park Lodge – Rogersville, AL

August 18 – Fun on the Farm – Burritt on the Mountain – Huntsville, AL
Join us for a day of down home fun on the farm. Enjoy visiting our barnyard animals including a closer look at a sheep or goat at scheduled times. Learn about growing a garden and how ancestors prepared their food, including a hands-on experience of churning butter and a demonstration of grinding corn.
