The Evening Post: Quilting in Gee’s Bend, Alabama


In the BlackBelt of Alabama, there is a group of people making quilts that are known all around the world.  The folks from This Is Alabama take you down to Boykin, AL, and you get to see the Gee’s Bend Quilters Collective.  These people are creative folk artists that make quilts that are showcased in art museums around the world.  Not only they make quilts, they also travel and teach workshops as well.  The biggest thing about these quilts is the income they provide for the people in this economic troubled part of Alabama.  Watch below and be inspired!
