We hear stories often during the Summer of people or pets locked in a hot car during hot weather and they often pass away from heat stroke. Why do people forget they have a child or pet in a car, I have no idea. In Alabama, there are no laws protecting people who breaks a window to rescue a pet or person in a hot car, insane! That must change! There are also proposals to ban pets being left in a car, a good idea. Until laws change, you must be smart about leaving pets or people in a car. This video from Sheriff Matthew Wade of the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office demonstrates how fast a car can heat up during the Summer months when it’s not running. It’s smart to just leave your pet at home sometimes!
