July 27-29 — Sci-Fi / Fantasy Fest — Hoover, Alabama

The Sci-Fi Fantasy Fest is an annual celebration of all things science fiction, fantasy & nerd related! It’s an event brought to you by the Hoover Public Library.  Major guests include John Anderson, Les Johnhson, and more.  Major events include a costume contest, gaming, and more.

July 27-29 — Akaicon — Nashville, Tennessee

We strive to offer everyone a weekend getaway with people they consider family and friends! We want everyone to feel a togetherness with others in the community and that they are not alone. We will offer a place for all to come and be themselves, or someone else for the weekend. We are a family, a community, and we will do everything in our power to make sure your weekend is full of fun, laughs, excitement, and togetherness.

July 27-29 — MechaCon — New Orleans, Louisiana

MechaCon was conceived as a revolutionary Anime convention experience, utilizing a unique three-fold approach focusing on Japanese animation, Japanese culture, and Transformers. The brainchild of two close friends, Pete Bares and Jon Russo, the convention soon became the largest, longest-running and most successful anime convention in Louisiana.

July 28 — Zombie Pub Crawl — Atlanta, Georgia

When the master minds behind Chambers of Horror and Diesel Filling Station sit down for a beer, strange things happen. In the Spring of ’09 after many beers and shots the Zombie Pub Crawl was born. Conveniently located in the heart of the Virginia Highlands, the ZPC (Zombie Pub Crawl) strives to strike fear in the residents and customers strolling up and down N. Highland Ave. What would it look like if the undead walked the streets, how would the innocent bystanders respond? That was the question that arose, and the ZPC is the answer.
