This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.
Multiplex 10: The Web Series is an animated comedy about the staff of a movie theater—particularly a schlock-loving usher named Kurt and his reluctant BFF, a film snob named Jason. Picking up where the award-winning Multiplex 10: The Animated Short left off, the web series features workplace comedy, nerdy movie jokes, and loads of character-based humor that appeals to movie pop culture junkies and fans of indie animation for slightly immature grownups everywhere. But each episode is self-contained—like an anthology of micro-short animated comedy sketches with a recurring cast of characters.
Alongside the Multiplex 10 web series, they’ve been producing a companion series of animated movie reviews called Multiplex 10 Movie Minutes, featuring Kurt and Jason reviewing the latest new releases (without spoilers, so you can enjoy them just for the character-based humor even if you’re not interested in the movies they discuss!). If you haven’t seen all of these videos yet, head over to the Multiplex 10 website OR the Multiplex 10 YouTube Channel to see the rest! They think you’ll love them—but don’t just take their word for it!
As of July 12th, this project has raised $18,000 of their $20,000 goal. This project has 5 days left to raise the $20,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $5, you will get early access. For a pledge of $20, you will get digital downloads. To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/gmcalpin/multiplex-10-the-web-series?
