This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.
The Chance Striker book series encourages readers young and old to embrace what makes them unique, as they embark on a fun, light-hearted adventure with a one-of-a-kind hero. Back in February, a plucky twelve-year-old boy named Chance Striker kicked a soccer ball onto her desktop screen. His killer smile and fancy footwork charmed her instantly, and she knew she just had to take a chance and tell his story! He walked her up the five flights of steps to his apartment on the Upper West Side, and introduced her to his wacky, yoga-obsessed mom (who seemed oddly familiar); his genius, older sister, who apparently had a chronic case of hiccups; and his sugar-crazed, not-so-genius twin brothers Zane and Zephyr (or Z-squared, as Chance calls them). She also met Chance’s best friend Ronnie, who sported a business suit and brief case; and Andy, a spunky short-haired girl with a knack for all things awesome, including card tricks and reptile wrangling.
If meeting these amazing characters was cool, then having Neil Kohney (The Other End) immortalize them in his clever cartoon drawings was just about the coolest thing ever! In fact, as one of the best Kickstarter rewards, Neil is excited to draw YOU into the book! How cool is that? She is dedicated to making sure this book is the very best that can be afforded for a print run of 500 copies. She has personally taken on as many costs as possible, including half the artwork, the legal fees, and the marketing expenses so far. This leaves her still with the costs for the rest of the artwork, marketing, editing, formatting production, distribution, and rewards.
As of June 20th, this project has raised $7,000 of their $10,000 goal. This project has 17 days left to raise the $10,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $15, you will get a digital copy of the book. For a pledge of $20, you will get a hardback copy of the book.
