Crowdsourcing Mornings: Atari VCS: Game, Stream, Connect Like Never Before

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Atari VCS transforms how you will engage with your TV, with a nod to Atari’s rich history of pioneering interactive entertainment and hardware innovation.  It’s from Atari, so of course there are classic arcade games, plus the latest modern and Indie PC titles from a wide variety of independent developers.  Proprietary Atari VCS User Interface with optional voice control and integrated web browser for full access to all that the internet has to offer to navigate and curate your personalized entertainment experience.  Built on an open source Linux OS so you can add your own software and apps to customize your own platform.  A planned line of Atari VCS peripherals and accessories will let you build your own Game and Entertainment-Powered “Connected Home” experience.

Atari Vault includes more than 100 all-time classics in their original arcade and/or 2600 formats and is ready to play as soon as you connect your TV.    For the first time on an Atari device, access the Internet for updated Online Multi-Player experiences and to browse, download, or stream more favorites.  The all-new Atari VCS Store promises a unique new experience. Atari is joining forces with a leading industry partner to be announced shortly, with the shared mission to provide exciting and diverse games and other entertainment content for the Atari VCS.  Atari VCS delivers unprecedented levels of flexibility and control that will help transform how we Interact with our TV’s, just as the original Atari 2600 did four decades ago.

As of June 12th, this project has raised $2.8 million of their $100,000 goal. This project has 18 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $199, you will get one Atari VCS.  For a pledge of $279, you will get one Atari VCS, joystick, and controller.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
