Crowdsourcing Mornings: The Wayfinder Camping Hammock

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Two years ago, college students, Jamie Procter and Sarah Fordin, began RADD in their passion to make innovating and easy to use outdoor gear. Their second product to release on Kickstarter is the Wayfinder Camping System, a versatile camping hammock that includes everything you need to sleep between the trees in an easy to use design.

This complete camping hammock system features everything you need, with no extra purchases required. Included is the hammock body, bugnet, rainfly, tree straps, ridgeline, guylines, and stakes. Everything is fully removable and adaptable to fit any environment. When the weather is nice, you can chill in the hammock with friends, having the bugnet and rainfly stashed away in the attached stuff sack, and quickly zip on the bugnet or clip over the rainfly if the bugs comes out or rain is approaching. The weather can be unpredictable, but with the Wayfinder you can be prepared for any situation, quick and easily.

“We wanted to design something that was easy to setup and pack up, but that didn’t cut back on its versatility or quality.” said Jamie Procter. “There are no knots in the system. All of the tie outs are fully adjustable. Even the guylines are removable, allowing more than just the standard asymmetrical sleep style.”  Tired of struggling to stuff other hammock systems in their stuff sack or wrangling tent poles, the Wayfinder’s stuff sack was even specially designed to create an easy setup and pack up job. It even has an internal water resistant pocket for your wet rainfly.

As of May 31st, this project has raised $2,500 of their $25,000 goal. This project has 28 days left to raise the $25,000 or it will not be funded.  For a pledge of $30, you will get a sticker pack and t-shirt.  For a pledge of $192, you will get one Wayfinder Camping System.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
