This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.
Hi – he is Dr. Joel Pierson, and if you were living under a rock last year, you missed out on my book You Suck at Piano. YSAP is a piano method book for adults that doesn’t encourage you to play stupid pieces, learn “real facts” about composers, or even stay sober during the process. But it WILL teach you to play the piano. You Suck at Piano raised a small boat load of money on Kickstarter (over 80k!), which he immediately invested into creating a music publishing company and TWO NEW BOOKS! Sadsap Music (the company) is proud to release You Suck at Piano 2: You Still Suck, and 20 Piano Pieces for People with Emotional Problems.
You Suck at Piano 2: You Still Suck is the intermediate level follow-up book to You Suck at Piano. Like the first volume, it contains 50 arrangements of famous pieces of music, along with irreverent drawings (provided once again by Kevin Nagler!), insults, and head-scratching writings on music. 20 Piano Pieces for People with Emotional Problems contains 20 original piano pieces – each one composed to sound like an “emotional problem” that we experience. There are funny pieces (Veganism, Irritable Bowel Syndrome), and there are serious ones (Social Anxiety, Insomnia). How did he write a piece of music that sounds like IBS? Read the book! For this book illustrator Neil Uhl has drawn your worst fears. The pieces in this book range in difficulty – some easy, some intermediate, and one really, really, really hard one.
As of May 17th, this project has raised $20,500 of their $15,000 goal. This project has 27 days left to raise as much as it can. For a pledge of $10, you will get a digital copy of one book. For a pledge of $25, you will get physical copies of book books. To learn more and to pledge money, go to: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1739570430/you-suck-at-piano-2-you-still-suck
