Crowdsourcing Mornings: LIFE · LOVE · DOGS – A Documentary

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Dogs can be wonderfully silly. They can also be heroic and gentle and wise and enormously healing. But most importantly, it’s the mysterious, often highly complicated dance between dogs and humans that is worth noting. That dance – is about love.  Veteran filmmakers Michael Buday and Oreet Rees, both avid dog lovers, use their storytelling skills to weave compelling, in-depth, and uplifting tales about the love we share with our dogs and the healing, heartwarming effects that bond has on both humans and canines.
LIFE·LOVE·DOGS is a documentary, envisioned long term as a docu-series. The goal for this campaign is to help fund completion of this film, which features 3 compelling stories with an underlying theme that connects each tale.

Suffering from PTSD after returning from Afghanistan, Alexandra, a Marine Corps Vet, finds healing through her service dog, but her past returns to haunt her when her beloved German Shepherd, Kai, vanishes without a trace.
An abused, emaciated puppy is found on the side of a road, but Tracy is determined to save him. Her journey to regain the trust & health of a dog so badly abused by humans – uncovers her own past traumas, but together, they find a way to heal.
When Jenn and Ryan, who foster senior dogs – learn that Ryan has an aggressive cancer, they decide not to foster anymore dogs. But when Harley, 24 hours from being euthanized – comes into their lives – everything changes, and Ryan gets a whole new lease on life.
The film explores universal themes of friendship, mutual rescue, and overcoming life’s challenges, proving that the faithful and unquestioning friendship of dogs can crack the thickest of walls. Even if you’re not an unabashed “dog nut” – these beautifully crafted stories will grab your heart – and not let go (in a good way!)

As of May 16th, this project has raised $30,000 of their $45,000 goal.  This project has 32 days left to raise the $45,000 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $15, you will get your name in the end credits.  For a pledge of $20, you will get a digital download of the film.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
