This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.
T O T E M is a story set in a prehistoric forest, inhabited by our main character Little Woman. From the very first frame we see Little Woman ready to fight the old forest spirit The Wild Boar. Her greatest desire is to fell the beast, taming its primordial force and thereby claiming it as her totem animal. While Little Woman is fierce and determined, her path to claiming her totem won’t come easy. The story is a tale about finding the inner strength to stand on your own two feet, but also the struggle that comes with such a task. It also deals with themes of going back to nature and getting in touch with your natural side, freeing yourself from the judgement existing within our society and modern culture. This freedom is what lets Little Woman be a female character without inhibition, instead letting her throw herself into challenges without holding back.
And lastly a few words by their director Katrine about her motivations for writing the story, “I have often found myself missing this kind of character, which was part of the motivation for me to tell this story. I also hope this story will act as an appeal to children and young people to throw themselves into the unforeseen and unpredictable things in life. To accept a challenge with the attitude of what doesn’t kill you will make you stronger”. With all of these experiences in hand, they are raring to go ahead with the full production, which they are planning to begin later this year. But there is still some work to be done, and this is where you guys come in to the picture! If they reach their Kickstarter goal they’ll be able to use the money to buy the right tools, rebuild all of the sets, and set up the full production of the 5-7 min. short film.
As of May 10th, this project has raised $5,500 of their $7,955 goal. This project has 8 days left to raise the $7,955 or it will not be funded. For a pledge of $8, you will get digital wallpapers. For a pledge of $16, you will get online access to the film.
