Crowdsourcing Mornings: Save Toys”R”Us GoFundMe

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Toys“R”Us is on the verge of permanently closing its doors. It feels like the end of an era, with sad headlines spreading across news and social media, BUT there is still time to save this American icon—and you can help.  This GoFundMe campaign is spearheaded by Isaac Larian and various investor associates. Isaac Larian is the CEO of MGA Entertainment, Inc. (MGAE), one of the world’s leading privately held toy and entertainment companies and creator of family favorite brands including Little Tikes. Isaac and his associates are devoted to saving the retail chain and preserving the Toys“R”Us experience for future generations.

You can be a part of this historic movement to #SaveToysRUs by donating today! Your donation will help to ensure that generations to come can “always be a Toys“R”Us kid” and save employee jobs that are at stake should the company cease operation.   The deadline for reaching the $1 billion goal is Memorial Day, May 28, 2018. The funds collected through this campaign would be used in the formulation of a bid to acquire some Toys“R”Us assets through the bankruptcy process. This is not a charitable donation, and certain donor disclosures apply.

As of March 29th, this project has raised $200 million of their $1 billion goal. This project has 60 days left to raise the $1 billion! For a pledge of $5, you will get a Save Toys”R”Us bumper sticker.  For a pledge of $50, you will get a Save Toys”R”Us Num Noms.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
