Convention Tuesdays: Huntsville Comic Con, Middle Tennessee Anime Convention, Spy Con 2018

Welcome to Convention Tuesdays! Every Tuesday, I will feature and highlight conventions happening during the upcoming weekend in Alabama, or within short driving distances from Alabama.

March 30-31 — Huntsville Comic Con — Huntsville, Alabama

Join us at Lowe Mill A&E for the Southeast’s most unique geek convention. We have dozens of great guests, including film and tv actors, comic-book artists, writers, and many more! We will have amazing events, including ongoing kid’s events, talks, panels, and two nights of Cosplay shows!

Everything will take place throughout the 171,000+ sq. ft. Lowe Mill A&E historic cotton mill facility. During our con you can find exciting new comics, gaming, and pop culture merchandise throughout the Mill. Plus you’ll get to visit the many working artists studios consisting of 200+ artists, makers, and unique eateries. You will need time to see everything, we strongly recommend attending both days.

It’s fun for the whole family… Even non-geeks love our show!  Major guests include Sam Jones, Cade Jones, Joseph Michael Linsner, and more!  Major events include a cosplay contest, pet cosplay contest, and more!  Learn more at: https://huntsvillecomiccon.com/

March 30-April 1 — MTAC— Nashville, Tennessee

The Middle Tennessee Anime Convention is an annual event dedicated to anime, gaming, music, and Japanese popular arts and culture, providing enthusiasts and the public at large with a forum to share knowledge and passion in our collective interests. MTAC began in 1999 and is next holding its 18th convention. MTAC operates entirely on a volunteer basis.

MTAC’s purpose is to host conventions for fans and enthusiasts of Japanese Animation (Anime). Such conventions are to be used as a forum for the viewing and discussion of Anime and related topics and educating the public at large on the same.  Major guests include Yuri Lowenthal, Tara Platt,  Vic Mignogna, David Vincent, and more!  Major events include a cosplay contest, lip sync contest, AMV contest, Ramen eating contest, gaming, and more!  Learn more at: http://mtac.net/

March 30-April 1 — Spy Con — Atlanta, Georgia

It’s time to get our spy skills on! Or . . . we can just walk around and look at cool stuff. The theme that weekend is James Bond, so if you’re a fan of 007 they’ll have some memorabilia to observe. For example, a replica of the Lotus car in “For Your Eyes Only” will be there.  Major guests include Lana Wood, Trina Parks, Victoria Price, and more.  Major events include a spy school, casino night, and more!
