Sunday Discussion: Why People Stopped Watching The Walking Dead

I love watching The Walking Dead, but sadly many others have tuned out.  In fact, ratings for this season are now the lowest since season one!  Yeah, it should start concerning AMC about the big ratings drop, and I wonder if the show needs to eventually wrap up after another season or two.  Anyways, the YouTube channel Looper has a great video out about why people have stopped watching The Walking Dead.  Well, maybe things can turn around, enjoy below!

  1. I stopped watching several seasons ago. It just got too dark and violent for me. In the beginning, the show felt more like an adventure series, but more lately, it’s been about the writers playing with the fans’ emotions, I feel. They do what they do in order to get the strongest reaction in order to get more people talking (even in rage) to the detriment of the show as a hole. Just my two cents.

About the video, Beth was one of my favorite characters, but her final season, all that stuff in the hospital was so depressing, it was almost the nicest thing to do, getting rid of her. I feel like they would have been better off spending less time on juggling so many characters, and more time cultivating the relationships between the existing ones. Or something. 🙂

    Thanks for this post. 🙂
