Sunday Discussion: Parkland Survivor With Autism Speaks About His Experience

I have Asperger’s Syndrome, which is part of the Autism Spectrum Disorder.  And when someone like me with Autism goes through a massive dramatic event, it can be a very scary thing and it’s something you will remember for the rest of your life.  So, when a student with Autism was at the Parkland, Florida shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School, it can be very scary.  Not only while you are hiding from the shooter, but also when the police come in as well.

This video from NowThis News, features a student who went through that horrible event, and the encounter with the police and first responders as well.  Autism is not a violent disorder, and Autism did not cause that shooter to hurt so many people.  Police and first responders must also get training to deal with people like Autism when they encounter people who have the disability.  Please watch this video below!
