Crowdsourcing Mornings: The Shih Tzu Who Knew Jiu Jitsu

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

The Shih Tzu Who Knew Jiu-Jitsu is a story about a little Shih Tzu named Leo who encounters a gang of dogs at his favorite park.  The pack leader, Weiler, pressures him to join his gang but Leo does’t know what to do. He either joins the gang or never visit the park again.  Feeling helpless and with no hope in sight a female poodle named Bon Bon hears his cry and decides to help Leo. With her guidance she teaches him the art of jiu-jitsu and how to use it in a confrontation.  Will Leo remember the rules of jiu-jitsu? Or will he cave in to peer pressure?

Yvonne Sifuentes journey started in the summer of 2016 when she took her first Gracie Jiu-Jitsu combatives class.  She was hooked from the beginning.  She knew this was something that was going to be a part of her life. She loved the classes and was eager to learn. When she would show up a little early for class she would watch her instructor teach the bullyproof class for kids. In the bullyproof program the kids learn how to defend themselves using the Rules of Engagement and also learn essential character traits that help them become a better version of themselves. That’s when she knew she wanted to write a children’s book on how to combat bullying using the art of jiu-jitsu.

As she continues her jiu-jitsu journey she will continue to find ways to help bring awareness and encourage people to take action against bullying. With your help they can make this book happen and share this amazing story that so many kids will not only enjoy reading but also understand how we should all treat one another, and that is to treat others the way you would like to be treated.  This will be one of many books to come.

As of March 5th, this project has raised $2,000 of their $5,048 goal. This project has 22 days left to raise the $5,048 or it will not be funded! For a pledge of $15, you will get a paperback book.  For a pledge of $30, you will get a signed book.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
