This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.
Action Dinosaur is an animated comedy that’s also a love letter to the insanity that was 80s media. A mashup of the decade’s colorful, zany cartoons and ridiculous over the top action movies, Action Dinosaur is a throwback to an era when a story didn’t need to make a lot of sense in order to be fun. Action Dinosaur stars Action Dinosaur, a time traveling, extreme skateboarding, electric guitar playing, totally rad T-Rex action hero from the prehistoric 80s. He is in possession of a time/space/dimensional vortex, which he uses extremely irresponsibly. Amazingly, he is also in possession of a Twitter account, which he also uses extremely irresponsibly.
They are raising money to complete their first Action Dinosaur short – which is already written, recorded, and storyboarded. The short will be submitted to film festivals and eventually released online, with the hopes that they can build enough interest to launch an Action Dinosaur series. Of course, if they raise enough money now they’ll be able to keep making Action Dinosaur episodes for the internet! They have a bunch of episode concepts mapped out, and they’d love nothing more than to share them with you. They’ve come up with a bunch of stretch goals to help them get there, and they’ll keep adding more as they go!
As of February 21st, this project has raised $14,000 of their $20,000 goal. This project has 20 days left to raise the $20,000 or it will not be funded! For a pledge of $5, you will get a digital wallpaper and tweet. For a pledge of $10, you will get a copy of the finished short.
