Last night, SpaceX launched a Falcon 9 rocket from California’s Vandenberg Air Force Base at 5:27 pm Pacific time. The launch happened around 30 minutes after the sunset in Southern California. The launch was a major success carrying 10 Iridium Next communications satellites into orbit. But the launch did something interesting, it provided a major show for people living across Southern California and the Southwest United States. In the videos below, you see the Falcon 9 streaking across the sky then leaving behind this glowing plume that left people jaw’s dropped! This was some really amazing stuff!
It’s way too short, but here’s a brief time-lapse of it looking over downtown Phoenix! Wish I had been more prepared and time-lapsed it from the very beginning! #spacexlaunch #Falcon9 @elonmusk #SonyA7RIII pic.twitter.com/xYiNkgSKgm
