Crowdsourcing Mornings: Finding Kai Documentary Film

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Alexandra (Alex) was a Marine, who spent the last eight months of her active duty deployed in Afghanistan. She returned home, suffering from PTSD. She got Kai, a German Shepherd puppy. She trained him for over a year to be her service dog. She not only bonded with Kai, she not only loved Kai, they were practically inseparable. Through Kai, Alex found healing and a sense of security, and was better able to adjust. Alex felt Kai had saved her life.  On Thanksgiving 2014, Kai went missing … suddenly … without a trace. Alex was devastated. She vowed to search for him – forever, whatever it took, to the ends of the Earth.

FINDING KAI is a film based on a true story. Many people “lived” it at the time. Some have varying accounts. This campaign is being launched to fund remaining production, including additional key interviews, and post-production, so as to tell the story in the most complete way.  You don’t have to love dogs to love this film, but if you do get it … if you have a dog that you treat literally like family (or know someone close to you that does), if you’ve experienced unconditional love from a dog and given it right back, then you will especially appreciate this film.  FINDING KAI is a documentary feature based on a true story. It will run approx. 90 minutes. The filmmakers have been amassing materials, and conducting interviews for over a year. They have more interviews they wish to conduct.

As of November 14th, this project has raised $21,000 of their $61,500 goal. This project has 37 days left to raise the $61,500 or it will not be funded! For a pledge of $15, you will get a digital download of the film.  For a pledge of $40, you will get a DVD and digital download of the film.. To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
