Crowdsourcing Mornings: Urban Planty / Urban Baggie

Geek Alabama Crowdsourcing Mornings

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

They have developed a unique vertical stand with an adjustable telescopic pole in combination with special jute pots with a drainage system and water reservoir. Urban Planty represents one of the simplest accessories for urban gardening, it is resistant to weather conditions and more importantly, does not require much space.  To use the Urban Planty, you must use the Urban Baggie device.  Urban Baggie is a multi-purpose product that can be used as a part of the interior design, as a decorated gift for someone’s birthday or simply to liven up your kitchen while cooking.

The Baggie is made of double layered fabric, namely the weed stopper and jute that holds water for a longer period of time, thus giving more moisture to the soil as if it was regularly watered. The bottom of the Baggie is made of recycled polypropylene.  Urban Baggie can be used for herbs, flowers and vegetables. Moreover, orchids and a small number of fruits, such as strawberries, grow perfect in the Baggie as well.  The users can design their own Urban Baggies and decorate them any way they wish, which provides them with a unique gardening experience.

As of November 12th, this project has raised around $3,200 of their $120,000 goal. This project only has 36 days left to raise the $120,000 or it will not be funded!  For a pledge of $10, you will get one Urban Baggie.  For a pledge of $25, you will get three Urban Baggies.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
