Crowdsourcing Weekends: C-zur Scanner, Yellow Book, Evapolar

Geek Alabama Crowdsourcing

This is Crowdsourcing Weekends! This post highlights three different crowdsourcing projects I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

C-zur Scanner

They believe that Scanner should be faster, easier and smarter; they believe that one scanner can scan not only pages but also books; they believe that technology shouldn’t be minorities’ privilege. So they redesign the scanner and spend almost 3 years to make the dream come true. Czur is the world’s first true smart scanner and highest cost performance. Czur can scan books easily and connect to WiFi. Czur is faster than any scanner in the world, and also is a video projector. Czur can be used in your home and office.

Equipped with 16 million pixels and creative algorithm, Czur can make scanning books as easy as turning pages. The most difficult problems including flattening curve, erasing fingerprint, smart edge-cutting have been solved. Czur is the highest cost performance book scanner in the world.  Through the powerful function of image processing and computing ability, we improve the scanning speed for about 20 times compared with the traditional scanner. Using Czur, you can scan everything in office including files, contracts, vouchers etc.

As of October 10th, this project has raised around $15,000 of their $20,000 goal. This project only has 44 days left to raise the $20,000 or it might not be funded! For a pledge of $179, you will get one C-zur Scanner.  For a pledge of $199, you will get one C-zur Scanner and foot pedal.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:

Yellow: The Collected Book

Created by the team behind OFF LIFE, Yellow is a celebration of illustration and the artists who’ve made it their own. They wanted to show that illustration isn’t just a medium of pretty pictures; that it can be as powerful as any photograph or piece of writing.  So they rounded up 52 of the world’s most exciting artists, allocated them each a week of the year and asked them to illustrate one news story that broke within their seven days.  The result is an entire illustrated year from 52 unique perspectives. And with the year nearly up, we’re collecting every piece into a beautiful hardback book that showcases what illustration can bring to the biggest issues of our time.

To showcase the power of illustration they needed to feature the best illustrators around. Fortunately for them, they were ready and willing to prove what their art form could do. Inside Yellow you’ll find original artwork from:  Jean Jullien, Hattie Stewart, Supermundane, Malika Favre, Ian Stevenson, Stanley Chow, Grace Wilson, Pete Fowler, Martin Rowson, Matthew the Horse, Charlotte Mei, Jamie Coe, Chris Riddell, Martina Paukova, Chris SimpsonsArtist and (literally) dozens more of the most exciting artists working today.  Not bad, eh? But that’s not all. Yellow is also complimented with interviews and thought pieces from outspoken artists, writers and social commentators.

As of October 10th, this project has raised around $25,000 of their $15,000 goal. This project only has 21 days left to raise as much as it can!  For a pledge of $23, you will get one copy of the Yellow Book!  For a pledge of $76, you will get one Yellow Book and a giclee print!  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:

Evapolar – World’s First Personal Air Conditioner

Start enjoying eco-friendly and energy efficient evaporative climate technology right now with Evapolar! Create your personal microclimate and enjoy ultimate comfort exactly when you need it and where you need it!  Evapolar works on power of water evaporation – the simplest and most efficient cooling technology since ancient times. Evaporative coolers already exist but you may have never heard about them – they are all very bulky and if your hot season is short they are not presented on your market at all. But Evapolar is not just another evaporative cooler. It received a number of upgrades that make it truly unique. And the main one is that they managed to make it both powerful and compact so you could put it on your table.

Some quick facts about Evapolar:

  • Evapolar is a desktop personal air conditioner that not only chills, but also humidifies and purifies air.
  • Your personal climate created by Evapolar is healthy for your skin and hair.
  • Thanks to its portability, Evapolar makes you feel comfortable exactly when you need it and where you need it.
  • In order to make Evapolar both small and powerful they had to develop a special evaporative nanomaterial that was previously a part of Russian military tech.
  • Evapolar emulates a soft natural chilling process instead of just producing a cold air thread like the other air conditioners (that often leads to catching a cold).
  • Evapolar is absolutely eco-friendly and 12 times more energy efficient than traditional split systems.
  • It is very easy to use and ready to work right out of the box.

As of October 10th, this project has raised around $135,000 of their $100,000 goal. This project only has 11 days left to raise as much as it can! For a pledge of $179, you will get one Evapolar.  For a pledge of $289, you will get two Evapolars!  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
