Burger King Wants McDonald’s To Join Forces For One Day With The McWhopper

Picture1wegwe

Yes, Burger King has launched a campaign to join forces with McDonald’s for one day and collaborate on the “McWhopper” to promote Peace One Day on September 21, 2015.  This is not a joke!   Burger King has launched a video, website, and has taken out full page ads to put aside the burger wars for one day.  The one day event would see a McWhopper restaurant pop-up in Atlanta for one day on September 21st.  Why Atlanta, it’s close to the halfway point between Burger King’s headquarters in Miami and McDonald’s headquarters in Chicago.

The burger would be a cross between the iconic Whopper and Big Mac sandwiches, and  the restaurant would feature hybrid designs of the two corporate aesthetics.  While Burger King thinks they will be going through with this, McDonald’s has already replied, and they have declined, no shocker there!  Here is what McDonald’s wrote on their Facebook page.

Dear Burger King,

Inspiration for a good cause… great idea.

We love the intention but think our two brands could do something bigger to make a difference.

We commit to raise awareness worldwide, perhaps you’ll join us in a meaningful global effort?

And every day, let’s acknowledge that between us there is simply a friendly business competition and certainly not the unequaled circumstances of the real pain and suffering of war.

We’ll be in touch.

-Steve, McDonald’s CEO

P.S. A simple phone call will do next time.

So it looks like McDonald’s is not wanting to partner with Burger King with this McWhopper one day event.  I say that Burger King goes ahead and does the McWhopper event on Atlanta, it will be cool to see and cover!
