Disney really wants to care about Star Wars, so much that they want to build something called “Star Wars Land” in their two theme parks in Florida and California.  During the D23 Fan Expo over the weekend, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced the expansion plans to their theme parks.  The pair of 14 acre Star Wars Land attractions will include cantinas, roaming creatures, the ability to fly the Millennium Falcon, and a lot more!  I guess according to this concept art from Disney below, it will be like you are in the Star Wars universe!

There is no timetable for when this might open.  But here is what Disney CEO Bob Iger said about Star Wars Land.

“We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single themed land expansion ever.  These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.  You can experience new stories with characters from The Force Awakens, and familiar characters from the Star Wars saga.”

One of two main attractions in both theme parks will be the ability to fly the Millennium Falcon.  The other main attraction was not disclosed.  Star Wars Land will be an entire world, complete with costumed castmembers, restaurants, and other attractions that will make the experience fully immersive.  So, go to Disney World, see Mickey Mouse, and feel like you are in the Star Wars universe, I’m in!  Oh, and also over the weekend Disney released the logo for The Incredibles 2 movie, i’m stoked to see this!
