The Evening Post: PBS NewsHour Talks About 25 Years Of The Americans With Disabilities Act

Geek Alabama Evening Post

This holds a special place in my heart!  25 years ago, George H.W. Bush signed the  Americans with Disabilities Act.  The act prohibits employment discrimination and guarantees access to public places and transportation.  If you read Geek Alabama regularly, you know I have a mental disability called Asperger’s Syndrome.  And the ADA act has opened a lot of doors for us in the disabled world, but a lot of work still needs to be done!  In the nearly 15 minute video below, Judy Woodruff talks to U.S. Special Advisor for International Disability Rights Judith Heumann, Tatyana McFadden, a Paralympic wheelchair racer, and Rep. Jim Langevin, D-R.I.
