This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.
BUDDY is the revolutionary companion robot that improves your everyday life. Open source and easy to use, BUDDY protects your home, entertains your kids, and helps you stay connected with the ones you love. BUDDY can be your personal assistant. It can help patrol your home. It can help you with everyday tasks and chores. It can play with your kids. It can help others communicate with loved ones. And it can do much more!
With BUDDY’s friendly appearance and adapted contents for children with autism, the BUDDY “Special Needs” pack uses specialized software and content to help children with autism to learn, communicate, interact and be more autonomous. They’re excited to announce that they are now ready to take BUDDY into full production. With your help and support, they can bring BUDDY to homes & schools all around the world and change robotics forever. Your contribution will help them to :
- Launch pre-series production and obtain all the necessary regulatory approvals
- Deliver their SDK (to early developers, so they can get started on building applications from day one)
- Place their first production orders (they are already working with a partner manufacturing company, but they need to know how many BUDDY’s they can produce!)
As of July 14th, this project has raised around $190,000 of their $100,000 goal. This project only has 29 days left to raise as much as it can! For a pledge of $549, you will get one BUDDY classic edition robot. For a pledge of $799, you will get one BUDDY special needs robot.
