Hey Kids, If You Misbehave, Get Ready To Be Slammed On Social Media

Picture1regfrew

This is a message to all of the misbehaving kids out there.  Misbehave, and your parents might shame you on social media!  Last weekend, a family was taking their kids out to a Birmingham Metro theater to see the movie “Cinderella.”  The mother dropped off her three kids, and as soon as the mother left, some of the kids misbehaved.  After the kids came back home, Kyesha Smith Wood learned from her 16-year-old son that their daughter and step-daughter were rude and obnoxious during the movie to a woman who tried to correct their behavior.

So what happened next?  The mother posted this on Facebook.

This is a long shot, but I’m looking for a woman that was at Tannehill Premiere tonight seeing Cinderella at 7pm. I dropped my teenage daughter, step daughter and son off at the movie. My son later told me, much to my humiliation and embarrassment, that my girls were rude and obnoxious during the movie. The woman I’m looking for addressed them and asked them to be quiet and they were disrespectful. After the movie she approached my girls and told them that her husband had been laid off and this was the last movie she would be able to take her daughter to for a while and my girls ruined that for her. If you are this woman, please message me. I can assure you that these girls are being strongly dealt with and appropriately punished. This rude, disrespectful, and awful behavior is unacceptable and they owe you an apology. My husband and I are have them write your apology letter tonight and we would like to pay for your next movie and snacks out of their allowance. Please message me if this is you. I apologize profusely for their disrespect.

Yes, that post on Facebook went viral, and the Jefferson County Sheriff Department posted this on their Facebook too!  Yes, Ms. Wood did find the woman who was embarrassed at the theater.  Her name is Rebecca Boyd, the two women have spoken to each other.  Things have been set right, and some businesses have reached out to Ms. Boyd to see if her husband can get back to work.

See kids, do something bad, and you could be the next viral embarrassment on social media.  So behave!
