Food Review: Polk’s Meat Products

Geek Alabama Food Reviews

Over the weekend at my local Winn-Dixie, someone was giving out free food samples, I love those free food samples!  The food samples was from a meat company in Mississippi called Polk’s Meat Products.  The nice lady there was letting people try their breakfast sausage, cajun sausage, and ham steaks.  I thought the breakfast sausage and ham steaks were good, but I really liked the cajun sausage.  It had a great blend of spices, and had a really good kick to it!  So, I got one package of Polk’s Cajun Smoked Sausage, and it was already cooked and all you had to do was to grill or warm it up.

Since I live in an apartment, I had to pan fry the sausage, and it only took about 10 minutes to get the sausage warmed up and brown on the sides!  So, it went from kind of bland.

To looking like some really tasty sausage in no time!

The sausage was very, very juicy!  It had plenty of juices coming out when I was cutting into it.  You can also taste and see some of the cajun spices used in this meat product.  And of course, you can also taste the smoked flavor as well!

Wow!  Was this cajun sausage really good!  I also had some mac and cheese with the cajun sausage and it was a really good dinner!  The Polk’s Cajun Smoked Sausage cost $4.99 at Winn-Dixie, and I am glad I had a chance to try the sausage in the store before I bought it, or I would have never gotten this cajun sausage.  And by the way, the lady shown me something cool!  Instead of using toothpicks for samples, use pretzel sticks!  What a smart idea!

I would recommend trying the cajun sausage from Polk’s, or any other products they have!  To learn more about Polk’s Meat Products, go to: http://polksmeat.com/
