Help The Oxford Fire Department Fill The Boot During 60 Hours for 60 Years

Picture1c vsd

From Friday morning at 7 am until 7 pm on Sunday September 21st, a Oxford firefighter is going to spend 60 hours high up in the air at the corner of US 78 (Hamric Dr.) and AL-21 (Quintard Dr.).  The purpose, to fill the boot and raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  This year is the 60th year of the fundraiser, and since the 1950’s, fire departments across the nation have encouraged people to “Fill The Boot.”

Here is a picture from me of the Oxford Fire Department participating in this fundraiser drive.  Captain Donnie Adams is the one 85 feet up in the air.  This event is called 60 Hours for 60 Years.

If you want to help fill the boot and raise money for then MDA, swing by the Martin’s Family Clothing parking lot at the corner of US 78 and AL-21.  Someone will be there 24/7 until 7 pm on Sunday!  They set a goal of raising $10,000, but they have risen that amount already!
