Crowdsourcing Mornings: UpRight Wearable Device

Geek Alabama Crowdsourcing Mornings

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings! This post takes place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

UpRight is a wearable device that passively improves your posture, so you can both prevent future back pain and feel and look more successful.  UpRight is a small, comfortable and discreet device that attaches to your lower back with a
hypoallergenic adhesive. The device constantly monitors your posture by gently vibrating to alert you to correct your body alignment the moment you start to slouch. UpRight works to gradually mend bad postural habits and ultimately prevent back pain.

UpRight offers a unique “Passive Training On The Go” program. This program enables you to wear your UpRight device as you perform your everyday activities, such as working at your computer, chatting with friends in a restaurant or even presenting a business proposal.  Start by using UpRight for only 15 minutes per day, and as your back muscles strengthen, gradually lengthen the time of your training sessions. After about 2-3 weeks, your back muscles will be stronger and your muscle-memory will begin to change. Within no time, maintaining upright posture will be an effortless task, even without the use of the UpRight device.

As of July 8th, this project has raised around $126,000 of their $70,000 goal. This project only has 9 days left to raise as much as it can!  For a pledge of $5, you will get exclusive updates from UpRight.  For a pledge of $79, you will get one UpRight device!  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
