On Saturday, is the 2014 edition of Jennifer’s Ride: Passport for a Cure.  The motorcycle ride benefits the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  And it’s mission is to continue the fight against Muscular Dystrophy through research.  Charles Daniel is the morning meteorologist at ABC 33/40.  Charles and his wife created Jennifer’s Ride as a way to honor his sister, Jennifer, who suffers from the disease.

The proceeds of the ride will go to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Birmingham.  This will go toward research and will also benefit the camps that support the kids with MD.  Their goal with Jennifer’s Ride is to develop this into one of the best fundraisers for MDA as well as one of the best motorcycle rallies in the area.  Going forward they will continue to expand their reach and activities with Jennifer’s Ride.  Here is video from me of the 2013 ride!

This year, there are a few big changes you need to know about!  First, the motorcycle route is different.  The ride will begin at Big Motorsports in Homewood at 10 am.  Then, the ride will go south and explore the cities and countryside of Shelby County.  Then the ride will go into St. Clair County and Pell City, then the ride will end at Riders Harley-Davidson in Trussville.  Here is the map.

Second, BoJangle’s is the new food sponsor this year and there will be stops at several area BoJangle’s.  And three, the after party at Riders Harley-Davidson will be catered by Moe’s Southwest Grill, Buffalo Rick, and Blue Bell Ice Cream!  Registration starts at 9 am on Saturday May 31st, and kickstands are up at 10 am.  The ride will be escorted by police, and there will be several breaks along the way.  Their goal is to raise $10,000 at this event, and they hope you can come out and enjoy a great Saturday afternoon where the money is going to something good!
