Why I Support The Honey Maid This Is Wholesome Campaign

So I think mostly everyone has seen the latest campaign online from Honey Maid.  The company has launched the This Is Wholesome campaign.  The campaign is about supporting the family structure, no matter how the family is compromised.  Honey Maid also wants people to share their family’s best moments and experiences.  As what in the original ad says, “No matter how things change, what makes us wholesome never will.”

The ad now has a couple million views on YouTube.  And most of the reaction from this video is very positive.  But sadly, there are some comments from people who shows their evil and hate surrounding this ad.  In the This is Wholesome campaign, Honey Maid recognizes that while the makeup and day-to-day lives of families have evolved, the idea and importance of wholesome family connections remains the same.  Today, families do not have to be compromised in traditional values.  You know, a man and woman of the same race married and having a couple of kids like what is told in The Bible or in church.  Today, families comes in many varieties!

Families might be a single parent with some kids.  Families might be an interracial couple with some kids.  And yes, families might be two people of the same-sex with a couple of kids.  Times have changed!  Although each family might be different, the definition of a family is still the same.  Two adults in love with each other and on a mission to raise kids to be great adults.  Sadly, some people still thinks it’s the 1800’s.  And families and a marriage should only be between a man and a woman of the same race.  I can’t tell you how stunned I am that this kind of hatred and ignorance still exists in our world.  So much for America being the leader of the “free” world.

Most of the hate you see comes from people who say they are deeply Christian.  These people say The Bible and the Christian faith says marriages should only be between a man and a woman.  Some people even go deeper and say marriages should only be between a man and a woman of the same color.  And yes, some of the hate comes from people down here in Alabama.  Here in Alabama, some people discriminates against a couple of the same-sex.  And some people will even discriminate against a couple who is a mixed race.  For example, the man might be black while the woman is white.  I just ignore what these people think, and I hope these people stays out of the spotlight.  Thankfully, Honey Maid did something with the hate messages!

Honey Maid got two artists to take the printed off hate messages and the artists rolled up the paper messages and turned them into a great piece of art with the world “Love”!  Then, the artists took all of the positive messages, which was 10 times as many.  And they surrounded the word “Love”.  All of the positive messages almost fills up the entire room, and surrounding the word “Love” shows everybody one thing, that you need to love, and not hate!  Of course, some people thought this follow up ad was evil.  And some groups like One Million Moms says this advertising campaign is bad for America and they are calling for a boycott of all Honey Maid and Nabisco products.

The people who hate the This is Wholesome family campaign from Honey Maid needs to realize something.  This ad campaign is not promoting homosexuality or the LGBT community.  It’s promoting the family structure, that is rapidly disappearing from this country.  More and more families gets into fights and arguments that tears the family apart.  A mixed race family or homosexual family is not going to ruin America and the family structure.  What America needs is a celebration of the family we see today, and it does not matter how the family is crompromised.  Let’s celebrate the traditional family of a man and a woman.  Let’s celebrate the single parent family and the hard-working single parent.  Let’s celebrate the mixed race family and how they love each other.  And let’s celebrate the same-sex couple family, and how hard they work to raise the family while facing backlash!

Thank you Honey Maid for doing the This is Wholesome campaign, the next time I go to the store, I will buy a box of Honey Maid graham crackers, you should too!  Learn more about Honey Maid at: http://www.honeymaid.com/#&panel1-1
