Crowdsourcing Mornings: Making Music City Sing

Geek Alabama Crowdsourcing Mornings

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings!  This post will take place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from KickstarterIndiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

Allow Sara Harvey to introduce Keela O’Reardon, a banshee with a relationship problem. Keela makes the mistake of dating a mortal boy under the watch of the O’Neil clan who is way out of her league.  Needless to say, as with most mortal-fae romantic entanglements, this one does not end well.  Michael O’Neil winds up dead and Keela is sent on a seemingly-hopeless quest to recover a lost banshee song in order to save him.  She lands in Nashville and the city finds her as charming as she finds it.  But not everyone is as helpful as they seem and Keela needs to stay focused on her task.  That’s difficult with the allure of fame and fortune tempting her.  And it’s going to take every bit of magic (and wits!) Keela has within her to finish her quest.  But is she willing to save her lover at the cost of undermining Nashville’s own musical magic?

Nashville has magic, it really does.  And she wants to share it.  Whether you’re from Music City or not, she thinks you’re going to love seeing it through her eyes. This is why she is asking you to help fund her project and make Music City a reality.  She did not come to Nashville for the music. She sorta ended up there by chance (and because she fell hard for a Tennessee boy), but she fell in love just the same.  It was really tough trying to find a way to incorporate Nashville into a book she wanted to write.  Nashville is NOT a vampire town and she is not so keen on werewolves.  One night, her husband turned to her and said “What about banshees?” OF COURSE!  She already knew how much country music was descended from Irish folk music and how much Irish folks love Johnny Cash.  She began plotting that very night (and didn’t get much sleep).  The book is written and the money will go towards getting the book onto the market!

As of March 14th, this project has raised around $3,205 of their $3,500 goal.   This project only has 4 days left to raise the $3,500 or it might not be funded!  For a pledge of $5, you will get the ebook version of Music city.  For a pledge of $25, you will get the foil-embossed collector’s edition paperback copy of Music City that is autographed.  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:
