Crowdsourcing Mornings: MixerFace: The Mobile Recording Interface

Geek Alabama Crowdsourcing Mornings

This is Crowdsourcing Mornings!  This post will take place every weekday morning and highlights one crowdsourcing project I liked from KickstarterIndiegogo, or other crowdsourcing websites.

These days you can do a lot with a smartphone — recording, audio processing, etc., but the main problem remains unsolved.  The mic inside the smartphone is best for making cellphone calls, so you cannot use it to make professional quality recordings.  What’s missing is a small device, as portable as the phone itself, that connects your favorite mic directly to your smart phone.  This way, you could record on the spur of the moment, anywhere inspiration strikes you!  They have developed MixerFace exactly for this purpose: Record On The Go!  Capture music and sound anywhere using your iPhone, iPad, Android or Laptop.

As of February 25th, this project has raised around $39,074 of their $52,000 goal.   This project only has 6 days left to raise the $52,000 or it might not be funded!  For a pledge of $199, you will get the analog version of MixerFace.  For a pledge of $299, you will get your own MixerFace!  To learn more and to pledge money, go to:  http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/mixerface-the-mobile-recording-interface-for-smartphones-and-tablets
