This week on Kickstarter Tuesdays, I have two Alabama based Kickstarter projects for you! Don’t let the Christmas Holidays discourage you from pledging money!
Ice Coffee Company – “Best Ice Coffee on the Planet” Must Re-tool to Keep Growing
They’re about to overflow! So, to keep growing, they need to buy a 48′ refrigerated trailer, add a garage bay door & move the roaster ASAP! Ice Coffee Company, LLC is 100% Natural Ice Coffee – just Coffee, Cream, Sugar & Molasses – no fillers, additives or preservatives. The coffee is 100% Made in American – They support the economy – they are creating jobs. Check out “Join the Team” on their website www.icecoffeeco.com
Ice Coffee Company is also 100% Supportive – from the coffee estates around the globe to the donated coffee grounds at the local teaching farm, Ice Coffee Company seeks to serve every person involved in producing the “Best Ice Coffee on the Planet.” It’s been a wild couple years since discovering that ice coffee was a BILLION dollar category with about 95% of that category being dominated by one global GIANT. The quest was on to create the “Best Ice Coffee on the Planet” and they’ve done it! They’ve been selling in the central Alabama markets for 2 years now, but are growing.
They’re really stoked to tell you that they now have regional and national grocery store chains wanting to sell the “Best Ice Coffee on the Planet.” This means growing opportunities and challenges, especially with their production space and delivery systems. They have maxed out their capacity at their facility but with a few small modifications – like moving “old blue” – their roaster, purchasing a used (well maintained) 48′ refrigerated semi-trailer, cutting a garage bay and adding a door, plus a little more re-tooling of the production facility they will be able to grow their business and stay in their current facility.
Please support their growth needs at whatever level you’re comfortable with. They’ll pay you back with great rewards like the “Best Ice Coffee on the Planet.” Help them earn more and more of the “Giant’s” shelf space in the grocery store coolers and America’s refrigerators. Please help this Alabama based business to grow!
As of December 24th, this Kickstarter project has raised around $425 of the $25,000 goal they need to be funded. For a pledge of $10, you will get an “Official Backer” certificate signed by the Ice Coffee Company team for you to proudly display. You’ll also receive notices about future events and projects via e-mail. The Learning Farm In Piedmont Alabama
The Learning Farm is a working farm in downtown Piedmont, AL with a park like atmosphere, a place you can work, learn, or just relax. The Learning Farm is dedicated to protecting their local food source by empowering every member of their community with access to resources for production, preserving, and preparation of safe healthy foods. From farm to table. Open to the public for learning purposes, they hope to encourage people to use the resources available to them. Also improving the quality of their environment by protecting their local food source through education and example. And guiding people to use the greatest resource available-themselves.
The farm design will be more like a city park versus the traditional farm atmosphere. Thus allowing everyone to enjoy the garden like the elderly and small children. And the farm will have several handicap accessible raised beds. Many types of growing methods will be exhibited. Raised beds will feature bio-intensive, square foot gardens, traditional in ground row crop, in ground raised beds, container gardening, and small space examples. In 2013, The Learning Farm partnered with The Piedmont Public Library summer reading program. Board Members and volunteers assisted with rope walking and The Summer Sprout from the library to The Learning Farm. Everyone had healthy treats, great activities, and a whole lot of fun.
A volunteer work program to be open to everyone, any income, any age. For every hour of labor performed, the individual will receive a credit. Each credit is worth $5 in farm credit. Credits can be used to purchase fresh produce, preserved foods from farm, or plants and seeds. Anything produced on the farm. Credits can be used that day or saved to be used later; credits can be donated back to farm, or donated to their local food bank. The farm has many chores, will work for food includes all labor whether it be planting, harvesting, preserving food, raking leaves, or sweeping the parking lot.
Phase one is their first Kickstarter project. If phase one’s goal is reached they will construct 22 raised beds 24’x4’x16″ and a raised perennial garden 8 ft. wide, 6 in. tall bordering 3 sides of the farm (as shown in picture above). Raised beds are made out of synthetic wood, USDA approved, and have a 50 year warranty. They will have a 8’x10’x8′ walk in cooler so they can store the produce from the farm. Produce will be sold for income and Will Work for Food Credit’s.
As of December 24th, this Kickstarter project has raised around $0 of the $30,000 goal they need to be funded. And as you know in Kickstarter, a project is not funded until the fundraising goal is reached! This project only has 24 days left to reach the $30,000 goal. For a pledge of $10, you will get a virtual hug, a e-mail with their special thanks, and your name on the “special thanks” page of The Learning Farm website.
