Weekend Planning: Christmas on Noble Icetastic 2013

Geek Alabama Weekend Plans

After today, the Christmas season will kick off!  That is why Geek Alabama has gone all Christmas.  Starting tomorrow morning, there will be a daily Christmas countdown post posted every morning until Christmas day.  This has been an annual tradition since this blog began and you will enjoy what’s to come on Geek Alabama.  Now for the first Christmas event Geek Alabama will cover, and this was an event covered last year.  If you enjoy beautiful ice statues, come on out!  And don’t worry, this event will end with plenty of time for you to get home and watch the mother of all Iron Bowls.  Here’s video from me of last year’s event.

The first Christmas on Noble event takes place this Saturday!  The first event is titled “Icetastic”, and there will be plenty of great things going on!  From 11 am – 2 pm on Saturday November 30th at 11th St. and Noble St., you can skip those Black Friday crowds and enjoy some great family activities.  Ice Carver Aaron Costic from Elegant Ice Creations in Cleveland, Ohio will be visiting Downtown Anniston to carve up unique holiday creations using 300 lb. blocks of ice.

Also, there will be pictures with Santa with Historic Downtown Anniston as a backdrop.  You can ride the Holiday Horse Carriage, enjoy special one day merchant holiday specials as you Christmas Shop Downtown.  You also have the opportunity to sign letters to deployed Military Soldiers.  The Cast Kidz will also be out performing some Christmas tunes while you enjoy a cup of hot cocoa.  This event was moved up to 11 am – 2 pm because they know a record amount of people will want to see #1 Alabama and #4 Auburn play each other at 2:30 pm.  You still have time to come on out and get back home to enjoy the game!

This event is sponsored by the Spirit of Anniston and the Anniston Water Works & Sewer Board.  Christmas on Noble Icetastic takes place on Saturday November 30th from 11 am – 2 pm.  Learn more about this event by going to their Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/SpiritOfAnniston
