Good News Fridays: Pre-Surgery Dance, Veteran Transformation, Football Life Changing Play

Geek Alabama Good News Fridays

On this Good News Fridays, I wanted to share three amazing and inspiring videos that will give you a smile on your face!  Some people have tough weeks at work or in life, if you had a tough week, watch these videos below, and get happy for the weekend!

Deborah Cohan Pre-Surgery Dance

This video is simply amazing!  Deborah Cohan started a flash mob in her operating room right before a double mastectomy.  Cohan is an OB-GYN and mother of two.  She figured the best way to prep for her surgery was to dance Beyonce-style with her entire surgical team at Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco, CA.  Many of Cohan’s colleagues wanted to bust a move along with Cohan!  How many get a chance to dance before a life-changing surgery?  This is a video that will put a smile on your face!

Homeless US Military Veteran Time-Lapse Transformation

Some people who have served our country have gone through some tough times.  US Military Veteran Jim Wolf was struggling with poverty, homelessness, and alcoholism for decades.  He decided to go through a physical transformation for Degage Ministries, a non-profit organization that aims to transform the lives of homeless veterans inside and out.  In the video, you will see Jim go through a physical transformation with a new haircut, clothes, and his beard trimmed.  Thankfully, Jim is scheduled to move into an apartment and is attending Alcoholic Anonymous meetings.

Life Changing Middle School Football Play

The Olivet Eagles football team at Olivet Middle School in Olivet, Michigan decided to run a play and intentionally not score, all without their coaches knowing.  The football team planned the play for weeks, so they could set up a very special moment for a special boy.  Keith Orr is learning disabled and the football team gave him the opportunity to score a touchdown!  The play was called the “Keith Special” and this play is something Keith will remember for the rest of his life!  You hear a lot of negative things about teenagers . People often accuse them of being entitled, selfish and angry.  This video proves the exact opposite!  Great job CBS Evening News!
