The Corolla #UnexpectEverything Weekend in Atlanta Georgia

Advertisements

Last weekend, I was given a 2014 Toyota Corolla by Southeast Toyota Distributors and Sunny King Toyota and it was a blast!  The car has an impressive inside including added leg room, and great seating!  The car has Bluetooth technology and has buttons on the display panel and on the steering wheel where you can answer or reject calls.  The car has Eco Drive which conserves your gas while you are driving on the highway, and the display can show if you are using the gas too much like speeding up too fast which wastes gas.  And the car has LED headlights which look cool at night!  This was a fun car to drive!

To begin, here is a video at nearly 25 minutes which shows off the car and the places I went too!

My first stop was on Friday night at the Ragland High School Homecoming game,  I have already put up a post with pictures and video on Geek Alabama, view it here!  http://geekalabama.com/2013/09/30/ragland-high-school-homecoming-2013/

By the way, congrats to Caitlyn Roberts for being named Homecoming Queen!

On Saturday, I picked Jeffrey Leachman and we began our day at the Big Zombie Bus Tour or Atlanta Movie Tours.  We got to see many great scenes from season 1 of The Walking Dead and a scene from the upcoming movie The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.  Here are some pictures from the event!

And here are two pictures of the entire tour group from Atlanta Movie Tours!

Next up was the fall festival at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary.  Great news, they have raised all the funding they need to raise the fence!  I have already put up pictures from this event, view it here! http://geekalabama.com/2013/10/01/noahs-ark-animal-sanctuary-first-annual-fall-festival/

Then we went to Six Flags Over Georgia for Fright Fest and it was cool!  Here are some pictures I took!

As for the restaurants, the first stop was The Pie Shop in Buckhead, the restaurant is hard to find but is worth the visit!  I got a chocolate ganache pie with fresh whipped cream and shaved chocolate, believe me, it was worth every bite!

Then it was a stop at an Atlanta institution called The Varsity, I got two chili dogs and onion rings while Jeffrey got two naked dogs with onions and french fries.  The meal with the Varsity Orange is something you must get while in Atlanta!

Our last restaurant was at Holeman and Finch, where we got the famous burger!  Let me tell you, this is something everyone must get once in their lives!  The burger used fresh ground beef, freshly baked buns, caramelized onions, pickles, freshly cut french fries, and freshly made ketchup and mustard!  You must try this burger!  We also got some bacon-caramel popcorn as a snack.  The popcorn and caramel were fresh and it had pieces of bacon in the popcorn, any guy would love this!

I was glad I got to drive the 2014 Toyota Corolla last weekend!  There was no comparison between my 1999 Chevy Lumina and the 2014 Toyota Corolla.  The experts were right about this car, it was fun and easy to drive and I love driving in this car!  I hated that I had to return the car.

Hopefully, this experience will lead to something bigger for me and Geek Alabama.  Believe me, being unemployed for 27 months is no fun!  I hope I can do more great stuff like this in the future!  Any companies or organizations out there wanting me and Geek Alabama to do something cool like this?  Contact me at barcncpt44@aol.com.  And before I go, watch the video above to see me in this homemade and crazy Halloween costume!

Note: Southeast Toyota Distributors, LLC (“Toyota”) provided me with use of a 2014 Corolla for a short period of time, event tickets and a gas card.  I am receiving no other compensation from Toyota.  The opinions I have shared about this vehicle are my own.
