Support the Heroes For A Cure Campaign

Geeks and nerds are known for helping others who need it.  And this special charity effort is something we all need to support!  Northwestern Mutual is partnering with Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation for the Heroes For A Cure Facebook campaign.  And they have set a campaign goal of $50,000 to fund 1,000 hours of research to cure the disease.  September is National Childhood Cancer Month and cancer is the leading cause of death in children under 15 in the United States and one way we can reduce that number is to find a cure.

In this video below, eight year-old Brooke Mulford and ten year-old Tony Salerno are both fighting cancer.  Two researchers, Michael Hogarty, MD, and John Maris, MD, also talk about new research and treatments to stop cancer in its tracks!

Through the end of September, for each Facebook share the video receives, the Northwestern Mutual Foundation will donate $2 to Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, up to $50,000 to fund research.  This is the equivalent of 1,000 hours of research that could be the difference between life and death for kids like Brooke and Tony.
